Use Google PageSpeed Insights to test your mobile loading time. Aim for a score of 70 or above on mobile.
Run your site through PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix. Your desktop score should be 80 or above.
In Google Search Console, go to Core Web Vitals report. Check for any URLs flagged as "poor" or "needs improvement."
Look at your browser address bar. You should see a padlock icon and your URL should start with "https://" not "http://". Click the padlock to check the certificate is valid and not expired.
Search your business name on Google. Do you see a business panel on the right (desktop) or top (mobile)? If not, claim your profile at business.google.com.
How many Google reviews do you have? What is your average rating? Compare to your top three competitors.
View the tab title of each page on your site. Each should be unique, descriptive, and include your primary keyword. Aim for 50 to 60 characters.
Right-click any page, view source, and search for "meta description." Each page should have a unique description of 120 to 160 characters that accurately summarises the content.
Log in to analytics.google.com and check that your property is receiving data. Look for recent real-time visitors to confirm tracking is active.
Log in to search.google.com/search-console. Check that your property is verified and showing search performance data.
Check each social profile (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) for consistent branding: same logo, same name, up-to-date contact info, and a link to your website.
Look at your last 10 social media posts. Are they regular (at least weekly)? Is the content quality consistent? Is there a clear content strategy?
Can a visitor find your phone number, email, and location within 5 seconds of landing on your site? Check on both desktop and mobile.
Fill out your own contact form. Does it submit? Do you receive the enquiry? Is the confirmation message clear?
